We’ve all heard stories of e-Bikes, scooters and hoverboards catching fire while on charge. Laptop batteries use the same technology and unlike an e-bike are usually kept in the house. Please think twice before opting for the cheapest battery. A Lithium battery fire is violent, very difficult to extinguish and releases toxic fumes.

This laptop in a Letchworth office exploded whilst on charge over night. Protection circuitry should have prevented the battery from over charging which caused a thermal runaway.
